Maudie Bryant (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and mother based in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her work explores the intricate layers of memory, identity, and the human experience, often peering at the delicate balance between tranquility and underlying unease. With a foundation in both visual art and writing, Maudie seamlessly blends symbolism and emotion across mediums, seeking connections that resonate deeply.

Recognized for her impactful contributions, Maudie is a 2024 Artist Fellowship recipient from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, and the 2024 G. Scott Griffin Award winner from the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, an honor celebrating artists who create through adversity. She also received a 2024 Pushcart Prize nomination from orangepeel literary magazine. Looking ahead, she has been awarded the KAT Artist Residency through the Shreveport Regional Arts Council for 2025.

Maudie's dedication to the arts extends beyond her personal practice. She is the founder and editor of Audi Locus: A Journal of Poetry and shares her passion for language by teaching English Composition at Bossier Parish Community College. She holds an M.A. in English from the University of Louisiana Monroe.

Outside of her creative and professional life, Maudie finds joy and inspiration in her family. She is a devoted mother to two young sons (ages 2 and 6) and shares her life with her husband and their spirited dog. Her work continues to evolve, fueled by a relentless curiosity to uncover the unseen and unspoken.
